Have a look at the different ways to manage your smart alarm , remotely or locally. Loved ones, friends, domestic helpers... How to provide access to your home with peace of mind? Whether you want to provide access to your home to family members or neighbours, you will need a solution tailored to each situation: remote control, mobile app, keypad, badge reader... Below you will find all the ways to manage turning your alarm on and off, remotely or locally. Alarm management modes There is an alarm management mode for everyone: Remotely via mobile app: wherever you are, manage and turn your alarm on and off easily using your smartphone. Locally via a remote control (a button turns the alarm on and off), a keypad or a badge reader (the badge must be swiped in front of the reader). They are all simple and efficient ways that mean you can adapt to any situation without compromising the safety of your home. Providing access to your home Depending on the people who you would like to be able to access your home, some alarm management modes are more suitable than others. Here are a few examples. Children — Managing the alarm locally should be favoured. Depending on their age, they won't necessarily have a smartphone and only parents should have access to the app. The remote control, which is incredibly easy to use, allows children to turn the alarm on and off easily from outside the house (some remote controls can even be attached to a rucksack). Keypads and badge readers are also suitable, but using them is a little trickier. As they are located inside the house, they can create stress, especially given that keypads require memorising a code. Family or friends — Naturally, it is complicated to give remote controls or badges to all your loved ones, and you are not always available to give them access remotely. Depending on how close you are, you can either give them the option to manage your alarm using their own smartphone or simply tell them the code to your keypad. Domestic helpers — Depending on how many you have (nanny, cleaner, etc.) and how often they visit, you can give them remote controls or badges. Alternatively, as with loved ones, you could also give them the code to your keypad. Some systems even let you set different codes for different people. Lastly, another option is to use the calendar. In your Somfy Protect app, set your alarm to turn on and off automatically every day at set times depending on your needs. Say you leave for work every day at 8.30am and the babysitter brings the children home from school at 5.00pm. Set these times in the app so that the alarm turns on and off according to your schedule. Why choose a Somfy house alarm? Our Somfy Protect solution includes a remote control that offers many benefits. The system detects whether the remote control is in the house and sends a notification to the home owner's smartphone if the alarm has not been turned off by the last person who left the house ("activation reminder" function). What's more, when a system user comes home, the presence of the remote control combined with opening the front door protected by IntelliTAG® turns the alarm off automatically ("hands-free disactivation" function). Lastly, when a child comes home alone, the home owner can receive a reassuring notification ("kids" function). Our solutions are simple, reassuring and intelligent. Protect your home and enjoy peace of mind. Did you know? Our latest innovation called Home Alarm Advanced works in any situation, even if there is a power cut or if the internet goes down.
